State Benefits Lookup
What does your state owe you?
Federal VA disability is one column. State benefits are another — property tax exemptions, free tuition for your kids, DMV-fee waivers, hunting licenses, retirement-pay subtractions. A 100% rated vet in the right state can save $5k-$15k a year on property tax alone.
We profile the top 15 states by veteran population. If yours isn’t listed, contact your state veterans services office directly — most have similar property-tax and education benefits.
What to do with this
- 1. Contact your county tax assessor with your VA disability award letter — property-tax exemptions are filed at the county level, not the state.
- 2. Check your state VSO link for the application forms and the income / age thresholds (many state benefits are means-tested).
- 3. Save your award letter as a PDF — every state benefit application asks for it. Workspace export will include any tool snapshots from this site as supporting documentation.
