The short version

• •Everything you type into a tool form — service history, conditions, symptoms, medications, VA letter text — can be saved in your workspace in this browser. Running an AI tool sends its inputs to our server and Anthropic for processing. Optional email, Precedent Brief and feedback submissions are stored separately, as explained below.
• •No account, login or password is needed for the free AI tools. Optional email submissions and brief requests include your email.
• •We never take a percentage of your VA back-pay or monthly award. Not now, not later.
• •You can export your whole workspace to a JSON file you own — or wipe it in one click — from your workspace.

What we send to our server (briefly)

When you run an AI tool (estimator, presumptive, secondaries, nexus, SMC, rating gap, etc.), the text in the form you just submitted is sent to our server for one purpose: to proxy the request to Anthropic's API so Claude can generate the report.

• •AI tool processing does not save your workspace to our database. Optional submissions described below have separate storage.
• •Anthropic may retain the request per their privacy policy for limited abuse-prevention purposes. Their retention is short and not used for model training by default.
• •Server logs record errors as plain-text messages only — never the request body. If Anthropic returns an error, we log the error message, not what you typed.
• •The PDF export endpoints render the packet server-side and return it to you. The workspace data passes through memory once and is not retained.

What lives in your browser

Your workspace — profile fields plus every snapshot you save from a tool — lives in localStorage on this device and is tied to this browser. Not the cloud. Not our database.

• •Clearing browser storage = workspace gone. Export a backup first if you care about keeping it.
• •Different browser or different device = different workspace. Use Export workspace (JSON) to move between them.
• •If you share your device, anyone with access can see your workspace. Clear it with the "Wipe everything" button when you're done.

Leads (optional email capture)

On the Rating Estimator, you can optionally save your estimate with your email. If you do, we store the email, estimate summary (rating range, monthly dollar range, conditions list and TDIU recommendation), browser user-agent and a day-salted IP hash. We never sell or rent email addresses. We email at most once a month. Unsubscribe anytime.

Precedent Brief requests

Creating a Precedent Brief stores your email, condition, fact pattern, nexus theory, selected decisions and comparison results in our database so the brief can be retrieved. If email delivery is enabled, Resend processes the receipt email and brief link. This is separate from your browser-local workspace. Avoid putting names, VA file numbers or other identifying details in the fact pattern.

Feedback you submit — tool ratings and stories

Submitted feedback is stored with your feedback answers, comments and hashed network/browser identifiers. Attribution and before/after ratings are saved only when you opt in to sharing them. Avoid including private claim documents or identifying details in comments.

What the tools don't require

• ✗Name, phone number, address, SSN, date of birth, or other claim identifiers to use the free AI tools. Do not include these in free-text inputs. Optional feedback attribution is stored if you choose to share it.
• ✗VA file number, claim ID, or any linkage to your actual VA records.
• ✗Financial information. The Precedent Brief is free — we never ask for a card or payment info.

Feedback and support messages

When you send feedback or ask for help, we store your message privately so we can review it. Feedback can be sent without an email address. If you include an email, we use it to follow up, not to sign you up for a list. You can choose whether to include the page you were on. Page links leave out query strings and private brief IDs. We also store a code made from your network address; the raw address is not saved with your message. Please do not include medical records, Social Security numbers, or private claim details. Unsent feedback drafts stay in the current browser tab until sent or the tab is closed.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous page-view counts. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no identifying data. We also log anonymous tool-usage events (e.g., "estimator completed") keyed to a day-rotated IP hash so we can tell if a tool is working — never to identify you.

Ads and video

The site loads Google AdSense. Google's ad services can use cookies and browser/device information as described in their advertising privacy information. Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image service; an embedded YouTube player loads when you press play.

Security posture

• •Tool inputs are validated server-side and run through a prompt-injection pre-screen before any AI call.
• •Rate limits per IP stop cost-bombing + automated abuse.
• •All traffic is HTTPS. No plaintext PII in server logs, ever.
